HONOLUA BAY SURFAS' SURFING EVENT AT DA BAY - January 16th, 2011

This event was held at Honolua Bay, Maui and was made up of several short board and long board men's and women's divisions that were broken into several age groups. There was also a men's body board division for ages 15 and older. Over 131 competitors entered the event, which attracted many spectators who lined up along the neighboring cliff sides to watch. The last heat went well into the evening along with the awards ceremony.

Honolua Bay 1

The surf conditions started off small in the morning hours, but by 7am, had increased to three and four feet. By 7:30am, the sets were rolling in at four to five plus Hawaiian Luau Feet and the off shore winds made for perfect conditions! Three to five second tube rides were the norm for the entire day.

All the proceeds of this event were donated to a family in need on the West Side of Maui.

From all of us here at HBP, to all of you, Mahalo Nui Loa and Aloha you Handsome Bugga You!

2010 MORMAII PAI'LOLO EXPRESS RACE

Monday, July 12th, 2010 - Congratulations to all event participants and Mahalo to our sponsors for making this inaugural event a great success!  We had some of the best athletes out there competing under superb conditions which provided us with three to four foot swells and easterly trade winds blowing as hard as 25 knots.  It was a battle all the way to the finish for the first place and fifth place finishers, who were neck and neck all the way to the finish line.

This event is only the beginning as we are already gearing up for next year and beyond.  Check back here for new event postings which will be coming soon.  Aloha!
