MAUI JIM TRIPLE CROWN OF STAND UP PADDLE - MAUI, HAWAI'I

Maui Jim and Handsome Bugga Productions are proud to announce the Triple Crown of SUP Race. The first leg of the race will originate from Maliko Gulch, Maui to Kahului Harbor (9.54 miles), the Second leg of the race goes from Maliko Gulch to Honolua Bay (21-miles), which is known to many as the home of best wave in the world. In the third and final leg of the series, paddlers will traverse the Pai'lolo channel from Honolua Bay (27-miles) to Kaunakakai Harbor, Moloka'i. This is going to be an EPIC event!

Here is a breakdown of the event dates...

Event #1 - July 3rd, 2011 - Maliko Gulch to the Kahului Harbor Hawaiian Canoe Club.(9.54 miles)
Event #2 - July 10th, 2011 - Maliko Gulch to Honolua Bay (21 miles).
Event #3 - July 16th, 2011 - Honolua Bay to Kaunakakai Harbor and Pier, Moloka'i (27 miles).

Judging rules...

The Elite competitor with the most overall points from all three races will be crowned as the "Triple Crown of Stand Up Paddle Champion". Should a competitor miss a race, he/she could still take the crown depending on how well they placed against the other competitors. Other place winners for each leg of the event will be eligible for prizes.

Each event is rated by the following criteria:

The location of the event.
Overall distance.

Distances are given the following star ratings:

20 miles or greater - 5 Stars
19 to 15 miles - 4 Stars
14 to 9 miles - 3 Stars
8 to 5 miles - 2 Stars
4 miles and under - 1 Star.
